In our continued effort to support marine conservation, Bintan Island Coffee Company has formed a collaboration with Conservation International, making CI our our marine conservation partner in the Asia-Pacific region. The collaboration will see much needed funding and support provided to sea turtle conservation work. Initial funding will help support a conservation project in Timor-Leste where a dedicated team of experts and local community members are monitoring marine life, particularly sea turtles in the region.
Sea turtles play such an important role in ocean ecosystems by maintaining healthy seagrass beds and coral reefs, providing key habitats for other marine life, helping to balance marine food webs and facilitating nutrient cycling from water to land.
We look forward to supporting Conservation International with the fantastic initiatives they have developed, in an effort to protect the Asia-Pacific marine life, in particular the highly endangered sea turtles.
